Sorbet was probably the first iced dessert developed in Asia and introduced to Middle East and then Italy. Sorbets have a grainier texture than ice creams or gelatos as they have don’t have any dairy in them. Plus, they’re super easy to make at home! Added bonus – it’s the best frozen dessert for those who are lactose intolerant.

Sherbet is just like sorbet but with a little milk in them, though not as much as the milk in ice cream. Sherbets are also always fruit based and lower milk content than ice cream.
