It was an usual day for Matt White who was shopping at Krogers. He was approached by a teenager who offered to carry his groceries for him in exchange for a packet of glazed doughnuts. Matt decided to let him do that as he found the teenager looking really hungry.
“This kid looked like he had been turned down 100 times,” White explained in a now-viral post on Facebook. “He looked ashamed, hungry and broken.”
Chauncy, the 16 year old teenager told Matt that he was depending on a stranger’s grace to be fed before the bus arrived in an hour. So Matt took him on a shopping spree and bought him everything – from food to soap and toothbrush.

“We had so much fun! We got cereal and chips and frozen veggies, pizzas, Cheetos, melons and pasta, peanut butter, milk, soap, tooth brushes, just a little bit of everything. All the while we talked and he told me how he makes straight A’s in school and is trying to get a job to help his mom pay rent. This kid was amazing. [He] kept calling himself poor, but he told me that one day he was gonna be wealthy and own his own businesses so that he could help other people in his neighborhood and buy them groceries like me. I was in awe.”Hergossip
